Hot on the news of Toyota offering strong March incentives to recover from a horrible February, General Motors announced that it will be offering a 0 percent / 60-month financing program on most of its 2010 model vehicles. GM’s vice president for U.S. marketing Susan Docherty said that the company was not chasing Toyota and had previous plans of offering the incentive. “That was our plan prior to hearing about what Toyota was going to do. We locked this in about a week ago,” she said on GM’s monthly sales call with reporters and analysts today. Docherty said that the incentive will cover about 55 percent of all the automaker’s models.
