Late Winter is a wonderful time for racing enthusiasts in cold climates. The roundy round guys and girls are already racing in the warmer parts of the south, which gives us something to watch on TV rather than shoveling the driveway and teams that start later in the season are out testing new cars. Corvette Racing has new cars this year as they are campaigning the the ALMS GT2 series rather than GT1 where they have dominated for years. The first race of the season is the 12 hours at Sebring on March 20 so it makes sense for the team to pound some laps in Florida leading up to the event. Sebring is known for its rough concrete with expansion joints that hammer the suspension and drivetrain, so the more laps they turn there the better. This way, the team should know exactly what will fail and be prepared or even redesign parts before the race. We’ve got a huge gallery after the break.
